About Us

Clean and Green: White Plains is the result of a working partnership between committed environmental law students, the City of White Plains Mayor’s Office, the White Plains Business Improvement District and the Federated Conservationists of Westchester. The partnership was forged in the interest of utilizing an “eco-collaborative” approach to environmental awareness and the promotion of environmentally sustainable choices.

An eco-collaborative approach embodies the idea of joining all facets of society in a concerted effort to educate, inspire and act in the interest of environmentally friendly practices. In that vein, Clean and Green: White Plains launched a large-scale public awareness and education event in the central downtown area of Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains on May 30, 2009. The event was a huge success, bringing together residents, businesses, academics, government officials, entertainers, and youth in the interest of making our community clean and green. We hope you were there to enjoy it!
